Job Description

In a supportive K-12 educational environment, there is an opportunity for a skilled social worker to provide essential services during the extended school year. This contract position runs from June 24 to July 31, requiring availability Tuesday through Thursday for a total of 10.5 hours per week.

Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) or higher
• Valid state licensure or certification as a social worker
• Experience working with children and adolescents, preferably in a school setting
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals
• Knowledge of K-12 education systems and policies
• Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse populations

Location:

• Scranton, PA

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing social, emotional, and behavioral issues
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student well-being
• Conduct assessments and develop tailored intervention plans for students
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records and documentation
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions for staff on social-emotional learning
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and needed supports
