About the position...

The Project Accountant is responsible for reviewing and verifying the accuracy of construction job cost coding, preparing job cost billings and all necessary supporting documentation for bank construction draws. This individual will be working directly with Project Managers to revise budgets, assist with change orders, determine percentage of completion, and verify close out of job cost categories. They will also , all in support of Triple Crown Corporation’s growth initiatives, as outlined in the company’s strategic business plan.

  • Prepare monthly job cost billings for construction jobs and projects.
  • Preparing supporting documentation for bank construction draws.
  • Review job cost invoices are being input promptly, coded accurately, supporting documentation is approved and attached to purchase orders.
  • Coordinates billings with the Site Division to make sure internal contracts to jobs are being billed timely and accurately for all Site Division employee hours and machine run time.
  • Identify job cost variances and make sure they are communicated properly between estimating and the field conveying savings or overages to management monthly to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Assists the Site Department with job cost coding, billings, reporting and analysis.
  • Prepare monthly cost and debt analysis reports.
  • Attends various job, project, and department related meetings to ensure processes, procedures, accuracy and timeliness of reporting duties are being properly maintained with all parties involved.
  • Running and compiling various construction job related reports as needed.
  • Coordinating job starts with all related parties to verify budget line items and job cost codes are entered appropriately for all expected costs for jobs and projects.

What we are looking for from you...

  • Minimum of Associates Degree in Accounting is required
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with job costing in the construction industry is required
  • Experience with AIA format construction billings is required (G702 & H703)
  • Proficient in computerized accounting systems and Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to organize and prioritize between multiple projects - identify and correct any adjustments necessary
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to discuss and relay information between the field, accounting, and estimating departments
  • Ability to analyze budget values with actual invoices and verify accuracy of job cost coding
  • Ability to organize/analyze information to prepare summarized journal entries from payroll reports
