The Fertility Institute of NJ and NY, an Axia Women's Health care center, located in Oradell, NJ is seeking a full-time
Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join their clinical team.
- Location: Oradell, New Jersey
- Team: Two REI Physicians and Three APPs.
- Services include - Ovulation Induction, Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT), Egg Freezing, Egg Donation
Position Summary: The Physician Assistant will participate as an integral part of the treatment team by collaborating with physicians to establish fertility treatment plans for families in need of reproductive services.
- Fertility consultations and counseling - educates patients and families on infertility evaluations, medications, and treatment protocols.
- Monitors patients by performing transvaginal ultrasounds.
- Supports the PACU environment pre and post egg retrieval, embryo transfer, and hysteroscopy.
- Supporting the clinical team with maintenance of office-based surgery regulations and general patient care needs.
- On-call responsibility in shared rotation with other APPs and RNs to include answering patient emergency calls after hours but not after 10pm.
- Practices under the standard procedures established for the APP role consistent with company policy and in accordance with all legal requirements.
- Conducts assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination.
- Performs assessment/data collection in an on-going systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and cognitive status, patient/family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy.
- Consults with supervising physicians and other clinicians as dictated by patient need and assessment findings.
- Reviews medical record for follow up or ordering of diagnostic studies under established protocols.
- Establishes effective working relationships with members of the healthcare team, patients, and families.
- Performs efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events.
- Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning.
Qualifications: - Active and unrestricted New Jersey Physician Assistant License, CDS, and DEA.
- Prior REI experience highly preferred. Will consider those experienced in Ob/Gyn outside of student clinical experience.
- Possesses strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Flexibility with schedule - position requires start time at 5:45 am a minimum of twice/week. Training Period M,W,F 5:45 am- 4 pm and T, Th 8 am-1 pm.
