Description Job Summary: Cleans and maintains carpeted and hard surface floors. Performs special assignments such as wall washing, vent cover cleaning and maintenance of special equipment. Maintains an adequate level of productivity to complete all tasks while working safely and dependably. Works effectively with other team members and continues to improve and develop skills and knowledge. Essential Functions: Maintains hard surface floors by buffing, stripping and refinishing floors; cleans baseboards, corners and doors; including but not limited to, performing finishing techniques to protect floors. Vacuums and shampoos carpets to remove dirt and stains. Performs special cleaning assignments; determines appropriate cleaning chemical(s) used to wash various surfaces such as vinyl, concrete, ceramic tile, carpeted, metal, brick, wood, cork and painted, including wall all wall surfaces; cleans vent covers. Maintains floor care equipment, including but not limited to, minor repairs and adequate chemical supplies needed to complete any assigned tasks. Adhere to Company rules, technical procedures and safety policies as may be communicated verbally or in writing. Due to the nature of the work being performed, punctual and regular attendance is required. Other related duties may be assigned. Schedule Hours: 7:30 pm to 4:30 am Work Days: Full availability Requirements High School diploma; or GED. Must initially be willing to undergo a NCIC-III background check (to include fingerprinting) that may take up to 6 - 8 Weeks and will require providing background information of 5 years or more; national & county criminal, employment, education, residency, & more. At least One Year related experience and/or training; and equivalent combination of job experience. Must initially pass the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS), and yearly review thereafter. To be able to gain access to Department of Defense installation. Working knowledge of cleaning methods, chemicals and equipment and safety practices as related to work. Ability to operate stripping, polishing and shampooing equipment such as electrical buffing, scrubbing and extractor machines, electric dry foam shampoo machine, vacuum, battery operated and self-propelled floor scrubber and carpet shampoo machines. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, service requests, container labels, product information, operating and maintenance instructions, directions on cleaning chemicals and other materials and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
