The Operations Executive plays a crucial role in overseeing the entire production process, ensuring efficient operations, maintaining quality and safety standards, and complying with regulations.
Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily feed production activities to ensure efficiency, meet production targets, and maintain quality standards.
Conduct daily walks through all areas to observe, note, and rectify problems, including housekeeping.
Manage production schedules to meet demand while optimizing costs.
Optimize production processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Ensure equipment is operating properly and troubleshoot any production issues.
Keep records of Health & Safety, including operator licenses, vehicle inspections, licenses, and VRTs.
Monitor sales and engage with customers.
Address customer complaints and liaise with customers to resolve issues effectively.
Be available for after-hours calls / security / emergencies.
Promote teamwork and engage with all staff daily to resolve operational conflicts and address concerns.
Implement quality control measures to maintain consistency in feed production.
Work closely with the quality assurance team to conduct regular testing of raw materials and finished products.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including HACCP protocols.
Ensure compliance with relevant authorities and regulatory bodies.
Conduct regular inspections and audits for hygiene and safety.
Ensure effective inventory management of raw materials and finished goods, maintaining optimal stock levels.
Oversee receiving and inspection of raw materials.
Ensure proper storage to prevent spoilage or contamination.
Supervise production staff, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
Monitor and schedule shifts to ensure adequate staffing.
Ensure proper training and adherence to safety protocols.
Participate in the recruitment of feedmill employees.
Ensure machinery and equipment are well-maintained to prevent breakdowns.
Collaborate with the maintenance team for routine maintenance.
Work with maintenance to promptly address mechanical issues and improve efficiency.
Implement and enforce workplace safety procedures.
Train employees on best safety practices.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including PPE use.
Ensure proper waste management and environmental compliance.
Maintain cleanliness of the entire premises.
Monitor production and operational costs while maintaining product quality.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Ensure proper documentation of production and operational records.
Prepare regular reports on performance and challenges.
Coordinate with management on performance and improvements.
Collaborate with procurement and other teams for smooth operations.

Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills

Proficiency in Maltese and English (written and spoken)

Previous management or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
