A growing national claims management organization is seeking a General Liability Claims Specialist to join their team. This position is hydrid, reporting one day in office to our client's office in Woodbury, NY (Long Island) but an active New York Independent Adjuster License is required. Minimal travel may be necessary.

Position Summary

This role requires independent judgment and discretion to manage general liability claims for commercial clients. You will work as part of a collaborative team committed to delivering exceptional claims services and advocacy for clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between clients and insurance carriers.
• Investigate, evaluate, and resolve general liability claims from start to finish.
• Manage all claim handling responsibilities for assigned accounts.
• Advocate for clients interests to ensure fair and timely claim outcomes.
• Maintain ongoing communication with insureds, carriers, and other involved parties.
• Gather relevant documentation and information for claims evaluation and reporting.
• Prepare and present claims reviews for client meetings.
• Maintain and monitor claims diary to ensure timely follow-up.
• Interview insureds, claimants, and witnesses to establish facts.
• Analyze medical records and assess bodily injury/property damage claims.
• Adjust reserves and negotiate settlements in line with client expectations.
• Review vendor bills for accuracy and compliance with guidelines.
• Analyze new claims for potential coverage issues.

Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Experience handling commercial lines general liability claims.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload while collaborating with a team.
• Familiarity with claims management systems (e.g., FileHandler, GRA) and virtual meeting platforms (Teams, Zoom).
• Professional, goal-oriented, and client-focused.
• Bachelors degree preferred.
• Active New York Independent Adjuster License required.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in claims handling.
