The Carlisle Area Chamber of Commerce is a dynamic organization dedicated to supporting local businesses, fostering economic development, and enhancing community engagement. We provide networking opportunities, advocacy, and resources to help businesses thrive.

The Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing a wide range of Chamber of Commerce events that support member engagement, economic development, and community visibility. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality networking, educational, and signature events throughout Central Pennsylvania while providing exceptional service to Chamber members, sponsors, and partners.

This role is based in our Carlisle office and requires in-person attendance during regular business hours. Remote work is not available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute Chamber events including networking events, ribbon cuttings, committee meetings, educational programs, annual dinners, and signature community events
  • Develop event timelines, logistics plans, run-of-show documents, and post-event evaluations
  • Coordinate venues, catering, audiovisual needs, rentals, permits, and other event logistics
  • Manage on-site event execution, including registration, set-up, vendor coordination, and breakdown
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for event-related member and sponsor communications
  • Support sponsor fulfillment, including signage, recognition, and on-site needs
  • Collaborate with Chamber staff and volunteers to ensure a positive member experience
  • Work with marketing staff or vendors to promote events via email, social media, website, and print materials
  • Assist with event registration systems, ticketing, and attendee communications
  • Help gather photos, attendance data, and feedback for reporting and promotions
  • Assist with event budgeting, expense tracking, and post-event financial reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of event attendance, sponsorships, and vendor agreements
  • Support general Chamber operations and special projects as assigned

  • Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Communications, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and event registration platforms
  • Ability to work evenings as required
  • Physically able to assist with light event setup and breakdown
  • Preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience coordinating events, preferably in a nonprofit, association, or community-focused organization
  • Experience working with Chambers of Commerce, nonprofits, or membership-based organizations
  • Familiarity with Central Pennsylvania business, community, or nonprofit landscape
  • Experience with sponsorship coordination or volunteer management
  • Basic knowledge of social media or email marketing tools
