Our packaging papers serve various market segments including health and beauty, confectionery, premium beverages, and food packaging. We manufacture labels for cans and jars, and our graphic papers are used in direct mail, magazines, and catalogs. Nearly $1 billion has been invested over the past decade to expand into sustainable and renewable SBS board grades for folding cartons and foodservice, including rebuilds of PM1 in 2018 and PM2, scheduled for completion in 2025. The Somerset mill emphasizes safety, sustainability, quality, and innovation. We are currently seeking an Operations Manager for Paper Machine #2 to develop and lead personnel and business process systems to fully support paper production. This role offers the opportunity to work and grow within a vibrant, forward-thinking mill alongside a team of highly skilled, dedicated employees. The successful candidate will be a key member of the management team, critical to the overall success of the mill. Lead productivity projects that result in significant improvements Implement and utilize systems for management Capable of filling in for machine managers Demonstrate excellent communication skills Show potential for promotion to higher levels of responsibility Proven ability to lead both hourly and salaried employees and set high expectations Skilled in improving organizational effectiveness and developing subordinates Ability to lead and manage a team Exhibit teamwork skills with peers and across departments Maintain strong safety leadership Entry Requirements: Bachelor's degree in chemical, paper science, or mechanical engineering, or equivalent technical training and experience Over 10 years of experience in coated, wood-free paper manufacturing Successful experience managing 24-hour operations and multiple work crews Extensive experience in coated, wood-free paper manufacturing, including: On-machine coating On-machine calendering Winder operation Salary is determined based on factors such as the value of the role to the organization, market conditions, internal equity, and the skills of the candidate.
